Solesca v2 (October 17, 2026) Latest
Design on the ground as it is
Solesca v2 is live for every Solesca user. After more than two years of development, this release brings terrain tracking and a new 3D view to early-stage solar design. Terrain tracking is available as an add-on.
FeatureTerrain tracking and 3D
- Terrain tracking. Lay out ground-mount arrays on the site’s slope. Rows follow the ground, and layouts account for your racking limits. See Terrain tracking.
- Full 3D. Inspect rooftops, carports, and ground mounts from any angle. Change the sun’s position through the day to review shadows. See Map and views.
- Pile reveals. View piles in 3D and color them by reveal height to find the tall ones. See Pile reveals.
Modeling and electrical design
- Solesca Core and Solesca Pro. Two new simulation models built by Solesca. Core is the default, Pro supports terrain and engineering designs, and NREL SAM remains available. See Model energy.
- New shading model. Updated shading assessment for your layouts.
- Inverter groups. Wiring zones are replaced by groups that account for inverter MPPT inputs and datasheet DC/AC limits. See Inverter groups.
- Energy modeling templates. Reuse modeling assumptions across designs.
- Module bifaciality. Set bifaciality on the module instead of each field.
Layout tools and deliverables
- Racking products are available as a library of terrain products.
- Racking packages, PVsyst files, and 3D DXF exports.
