# Obstruction, utility, and engineering templates

Reuse obstruction dimensions, utility requirements, and engineering choices.

Open **Settings › Templates** and select the template type. Each library provides create, edit, duplicate, and delete actions. Name templates so teammates can recognize where to use them.

## Obstruction templates

An obstruction template provides starting dimensions, heights, and setbacks for different obstruction types. These settings can also be used for objects detected by ARGUS.

Select the template in the obstruction or ARGUS controls, then check the resulting objects. A detected object still needs review against the site.

For a linked obstruction, the template control shows differences and offers an update. Changing a value does not automatically detach the template; **Detach template** keeps the current values and removes the link.

## Utility templates

A utility template stores requirements used by the interconnection equipment settings. Choose the applicable template in engineering setup or the point-of-interconnection inspector.

Review the utility and project requirements before generating the [interconnection package](https://docs.staging.solesca.com/downloads/engineering/#interconnection-package).

## Engineering templates

An engineering template provides reusable conductor, board, transformer, and other electrical choices. Select it in [engineering setup](https://docs.staging.solesca.com/engineering/overview/#set-up-engineering), then review every step.

Applying a template fills the setup choices. Clearing the picker does not undo the values it applied. Review the summary before applying engineering to the design.

Templates help reuse inputs; review their suitability for each project.
