# 3D measurements

Estimate object heights and roof slopes from the 3D map.

On the 3D map, Solesca can estimate heights and roof slopes from the site's imagery. These measurements support planning. Verify them on site before construction.

## Before you match

- Switch to the 3D view and let the site's imagery load.
- Check that the field or obstruction lines up with the site.
- If needed, [align the imagery and layers](https://docs.staging.solesca.com/editor/map/#line-up-2d-imagery-with-3d) first.

## Match a measurement

| Where | Control | What it updates |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Roof field's **ARGUS AI** section | **Match all heights to 3D** | Heights of detected roof obstructions |
| Obstruction inspector | **Match height to 3D** | The selected object's height |
| Tree inspector | **Match size to 3D** | Trunk height and crown size |
| Flat-roof field | **Match roof tilt to 3D** | Roof slope and height |

Inspect the updated shape from several angles. If a small obstruction is not measured well with the whole roof, select it and match its height individually.

## Roof slope

**Match roof tilt to 3D** adjusts the roof to the estimated slope while keeping its racking. Review the reported direction and tilt. A slope indicator on the control means a possible slope was found; applying the match is still your choice.

Undo a measurement with `Ctrl+Z` or `⌘Z`.

## Reports

Reports and plan sets identify designs that use measurements from the 3D map. Keep that qualification with the design when sharing it.
